Greater than 500 years in the past, a medieval soldier’s lifeless physique settled on the backside of a Lithuanian lake, and for hundreds of years it lay hidden beneath the mud. Now, these submerged stays have lastly been discovered.

The skeleton was found throughout an underwater inspection of the previous Dubingiai bridge in jap Lithuania’s Lake Asveja.

Although the skeleton lay underneath a layer of sand and silt, the scene was not a burial, stated archaeologist Elena Pranckėnaitė, a researcher with Klaipėda College in Klaipėda, Lithuania, according to the Baltic News Service (BNS).

Somewhat, water currents possible deposited sediments that coated the stays over time.
